Our History
Established in 2020 under the “Jodhpur Wooden Handicraft Cluster” program supported by the Government of Rajasthan, TDHS has grown to represent over 120 micro-units and artisans.
Our Goals

Key Challenges
TDHS is working to address challenges faced by artisans through various initiatives
Power Imbalances
Unfavorable terms of trade with exporters: Lack of written contracts, dependence on purchase orders, and delayed payments.
Market Access
Limited access to markets: Difficulty accessing domestic and export markets beyond dependence on exporters.
Capital Access
Lack of finance: Difficulty obtaining working capital and loans for machinery upgrades.
Skill Development
Skill development: Need for training in new techniques, polishing, finishing, and e-commerce.
Awareness
Lack of information: Limited awareness of government schemes and compliances.
Our Initiatives
We are working to address these challenges through various initiatives.
- Capacity Building Workshops: Providing training on business management, marketing, e-commerce, and government schemes.
- Market Access Facilitation: Connecting artisans with potential buyers in domestic and international markets.
- Advocacy: Lobbying for policies that support the growth and sustainability of the wooden handicraft industry.
- Financial Assistance: Exploring partnerships with financial institutions to facilitate access to loans and grants for artisans.
